We are delighted to reflect on and compile this yearbook for you all to read. The yearbook has briefly enlisted the ongoing programs at Sirumalai Health Center, and we have chosen a few of the many impact narrativesthat Sirumalai has created on itstarget community.

Our Presence

SIRUMALAI TRUST CLINIC , PERUMALMALAI

This rural clinic of SITHARA occupies a strategic location at the junction of four major roads in Kodaikanal, specifically at the Perumalmalai-Palani Pirivu junction. This junction serves as a pivotal confluence point for three distinct panchayats: Adukkam, Vadakaunji, and Vilpatty. The health center plays a crucial role in serving the healthcare needs of the surrounding area, encompassing 18 villages and 8 tribal hamlets around Perumalmalai. The focus of the center extends beyond providing mere acute medical treatment to include preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative services, alongside. acute care.

This center currently records a monthly footfall of 400 individuals. It is modeled as a Family medicine center and led by Family Physicians as well as Nurses and health workers mentored by Family physicians.  Designed to provide comprehensive healthcare services including , outpatient care, Non communicable disease ongoing care, Medical diagnostic laboratory services, physiotherapy services, and preventive eye care under singular roof.

KC PATTY PHC AND CENTER FOR LIVELIHOODS

In a bid to reach remote rural tribal population, SITHARA has also partnered with the Palani hills Development Trust (PHDT) run by Dr Rajkumar and Dr Mary Ramasamy. The family physicians at SITHARA also extend their services at the KC PATTY PHC AND PACHALUR centers of PHDT through the week  on a rotational basis .This collaborative effort helps us reach almost 40 tribal villages in the Lower Palani Hills. These centers have a monthly foot fall of 1660 patients.

CENTER FOR LIVELIHOODS, KCPATTY

Apart from addressing the healthcare needs of the community that we serve, SITHARA is actively engaged in with the rural tribal communities in the livelihood sector as well. What began as a small pilot project in growing turmeric is slowly growing towards a full fledged program by itself . The vision of this center is to bring about sustainable livelihood revolution in the hills by empowering the small land holding farmers to able to process and market their own produce and thereby provide better value for their produce and prevent migration to the cities.
